Nice wine. Good style. Good to drink now. Interesting aroma, more direct and dark then other pinot noir in general. Good structure and tannin, just a bit flat overall.

Looking back at my note from 2008 when I had my last bottle of this, I can say it has definitely settled down and integrated. Still on the large ripe side of Pinot, but very enjoyable as it is a very different expression of Pinot... not sure exactly how close Pinonero is to Pinot Noir, but I was trying to make the connection... this was not like an American or French version.... the Tannins were heartier, although mostly integrated, this just had a stronger framework than my reference points. Far from over the hill

Very well made but extremely oaky, perhaps too much to ever recover. Heavily extracted, delicious fruit though decidedly not your french cousin's pinot noir.

Popped and poured - which was a big mistake for this huge wine. Great fruit with a wall of structure, I imeditaely put half into a 375ml and will update when I re-open. Seems like everything is there, but i was not expecting this structured of a wine from a Pinot Nero (actually i was thinking more in the lines of a Pinot Noir - maybe my bad assumption)
