Dark ruby red, almost opaque, with pink rim. Blackcurrant, cassis, flowers, Provencal herbs, overripe raspberry, strawberry, pepper, spices, wood, dark chocolate and black truffle. Full bodied, medium-high acidity, medium-high tannin, medium structure, medium-high to high alcohol, and medium finish. Bold, open and intense. Still tannic on the palate, and a little coarse on the palate which was its weakness point.
Wine still youthful and plenty of cellar life ahead of it. Tertiary aromas had barely emerged.

Another year, another bottle... unlike last year's, this one's a little tired & played out. Leathery fruit, tertiary notes... not bad but also very much on the backed of the curve.

Back to good luck with this bottle. Red fruit at pop, meaty / earthy core, decent length, good integration and soft tannins for a plush feel, good energy and not at all played out or flabby like the last bottle. Yum!

Another bottle that was a bit flat and played out. Slowly making our way towards the last of these...
