  3 cm. Wine opened for 15 minutes and consumed in 2 hrs. Color light, but clear. Good balance, with tea leaf then turning to leather and chocolate. Even good condition, should consume now.

  Clos des Lambrays Vertical (Momofuku Ma Peche): Each one of the wines in this 1970s trio smelled very different. This one was rusty with a spicy seasoning sort of reminiscent of a barbecue dry rub. It's a little boxy as many '76s can be but not as firm as I might have expected; it's not hard, it just shows its borders at least as prominently as its flesh, which is light and perhaps a little hollow, at least in comparison to the 1971. Picks up more grip as it sits, but nothin' special here.
