This felt a bit nondescript and lacking in intensity. The finish was a bit flat and short and lacking in richness. I happened to have the '15 Tycanon Tytanium open at the same time and that was far more dynamic and interesting.

This has improved again over the last few years. This now has more weight, more excitement and more precision. It's altogether more serious and expressive. There is spice, but nothing over-done, there's some racy intensity of red and black fruit. This is a great example of a wine that shines with more age; I was a bit disappointed when I tasted this in previous years, but this is so much more virile and decadent now vs. before. It's amazing the difference a couple of years can make. This may be better still in two years - a bit more softness could make this better still.

Big red fruit from the glass along with some spice...hint of white pepper. Black cherry, boysenberry, toasted oak and hint of vanilla on the palate. Tannins still moderate but integrated with medium plus alcohol. Long finish with the return of the white pepper nuance. Pretty big wine that can still age but drinking nicely now.

Whoa, a big fruit bomb of blackberries and plum. Huge fruit on the nose and palate. Tannins provided a nice, smooth structure. Nice wood, oak on the finish. Great mouth feel with a long, long finish. Nice stuff.

This has improved since I had it a year ago. The dry, white pepper backbone is there but more fruit is showing, balancing things out. Quite imposing. Showing well now but will likely show better still with more time.
