Chicago Wine Flock...Hezi's Late 90s Trip Around the World (Hezi's - HP,IL): Tasted double blind. Seemed very much like old Pinot Noir to me, with lots of earth and mature red cherry aromas and flavors, all nicely textured. This would have been my WOTN but I don't think it was made under pristine conditions, coming across as slightly murky in both color and finish.

Tasted blind in a tasting of wines around the world. Pinot nose/Burgundian, lasting on the palate, earth, dirt, dirty color, older as I thought 30 years (close). What a treat.

I thought this was a simple wine in its twilight years. Cork broke in middle. No sign of seepage. Tasted over 2 hours.
Translucent red with pink meniscus. Limited tertiary development, and palate offers a very simple pinot, shortish finish and tart red fruit. Cinderella this isn't.

Tasted again while camping. Not a bad camping wine I must say...Consistent with previous note.
