  • Beautiful right now. While the tannins are still mildly present they have receded to the background and this is now a crisp, medium structured beauty with cherry, fennel, menthol, tar and rose notes underlaid by an attractive earth base. While this will hold longer I suspect this is peak drinking now. Well balanced and nicely acid. Lovely.

  • Farewell to Neil H. From his cellar but supplied by me! Deep ruby. Plenty fruits, some cassis but more black cherry and under ripe plum.Tobacco. Sandalwood. Still drying tannins. Lovely length and complexity. VG wine.

  • on the bigger / bolder side for barbaresco, but its structure and acidity could carry the heft... this was really nice with the whole menagerie, dark fruit, acidity for lift, oomph / tannin which undoubtedly will settle down over time, spice / tobacco / cedar etc... I suspect this will go over the hill before it ever becomes 'elegant' but I think with ten plus more years it might just have 93/94 magic... too bad I - for some reason - only bought one

  • Red fruit, leather, roses, tar, and maybe a hint of alcohol on the nose. Nice acidity, good structure, and flavors of tart red berries, cherries, and blood orange in the palate. Good finish.
