When I had bought two bottles of this rather expensive wine, I was shocked to see that it was totally trashed in the tasting notes. Than, recently, things started looking up with more positive notes. So I decided to try one. For sure, it is not nearly as bad as some said. It is not terribly good either. "A point" for drinking right now, the nose shows cherries on eau-de-vie. Warm taste, beginning to have a little dry edge (that tells me "drink up!"). Tannins almost faded, but nicely padded mouthfeel. Long finish, though a little dry. Good, not great.

Dark fruit; slight bricking at the rim; distinct forest floor and earthiness...only negative from my perspective was some slight 'drying' on the front of the palate and less depth than expected. Just didn't have a full mouthfeel
Same comments as last time. Only issue was we thought the 2006 La Combe aux Moines by Leclerc was slightly better/elegant. Opaque, dark, ruby red. Nice wet forest (sous bois) with voluptuous dark red fruits. A body of immense stature. Excellent dirt throughout the palate, very tasty fruit with a hint of chocolate. Tres yummy. Still growing up, but glorious now. Great, long finish. A winner!!!

Sadly, there was something "off" with this bottle....something more than a bitter acidity.

No formal notes. Not complex but a nice Burgundy with dinner
