But the rouge was the main event: classic Pessac leather, fine aged meat, tobacco, one of the few Bordeauxs I've had recently that I actually thought, "cedar", my last and by far best bottle. Not Haut Brion, but Pessac typicity, decent complexity, and a wine that you wanted to come back to: what more can you ask? I see that Rolland got his hands on this estate in 02; damn shame, because this is classic stuff.

A very nice food wine after opening up for a bit in the decanter. Well-integrated, smooth tannins. Dry on the finish with subtle tastes that make you want more.

Anita: Nice dark forest and wet underbrush notes. Understated, but a plush, soft, but rich mouth, med. bod, med. full t’s. This is a classic Pessac, nice earthy, coffee, foresty style cab.

Dark plum colour, not intense on the nose, but complex and quite interesting. Plum and currant fruit and quite earthy. Dry, firm with nice acidity and a taste of dry currants on the finish. Very nice food wine.

Classic Graves, cool toned, complex and earthy, pretty old school, drinking great now.
