This wine continues to disappoint. Very acidic, sour cherry, with limited aromas. On the palate this has no complexity and there is nothing noteworthy about this wine other than I can't wait until our cellar is clear so we can use it for other wine.

This is a reasonable quality wine that is best enjoyed with food. It offers a dry and somewhat tart expression with balanced acidity to cleanse most Italian meals from the palate. The finish does offer a bit of spice. The 2007 Viticcio CC Riserva is a more complex wine in my view.
The wine is fairly straightforward with little development even on the second day. At the price point, it is a fair QPR, but there are many Maremma Tuscans that are more complex, and that offer a better value.
It's hard to see how this achieved a WS 92.

Popped and poured from a 375 mL bottle at the restaurant. Sweet cherry nose. Bright cherry flavours on the palate. Tannins nicely round and smooth. Medium finish. Paired very well with wagyu beef carpaccio. 5 years old, this Chianti Classico is in a good place now. Drink up.

It is in a really good place. A really wonderful nose of violets and cherry. Smooth fruity flavours of blackberry and cherry pie. Wish i had more.
