This was another good bottle very like the previous but with graciousness taking over from savoury. On the nose there was just a hint of coming decay with whiffs of cabbage emerging but with air the gracious fruit and minerals pushed it aside and on the palate it was not perceptible. This is a warning to open my remaining bottle soon. Very good.

Appropriately mature red. Expressive nose of mixed berry fruits with generous but attractive and complicating green notes. Tobacco leaf. Similar on the palate with nicely layered complexity. Its fully ripe - in fact it seemed to sweeten up in the glass - but there is some Cabernet leanness / austerity on the palate. Medium weight. Quite firm acid kicks in early on the mid palate and continues through the long finish. Tannins gripping the gums a little. Very good. Serious Chinon, on the leaner side. This will surely keep a while if so desired. Softened up a bit after a couple of hours. Recommend decanting this.

Quite light, good red berry flavours with a definite greenness but also with great finesse, slightly bretty, not a great vintage but a very enjoyable wine. Joguet wines are not the best value around, but they do have an innate class which sets them apart from the rest.

Quite light in colour and medium/light bodied on the palate, this was elegant, delicious and long in a savoury mode with its red berry fruit, minerals, pencil shavings and moreish acidity permeated by a tangy meatiness which may owe something to a brett "fault" but which I happen to like. I recall that, in a tasting in the mid-00s, there was already substantial bottle variation. This was a very good one.
