PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs -nearly opaque med dark red no bricking -relatively restrained cassis -med/med+ acidity gives nice lift, med/med- weight fading somewhat earthy cassis plum lacking in complexity and depth, med tannins remain along with a bitter note on the finish -pleasant, its higher acidity lighter weight profile fits well in the wheelhouse of Burgundy fans, probably not going to improve with further age

Full mature, medium bodied, soft. fruity wine with licorice, tobacco and earthy accents to the red fruits. Drink this over the next few years, before the fruit fades. The wine was produced from blending 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (80%) and Merlot (20%). Purple on the eye. Aromas of sweet dark berries and dirty, wet forest. Palate is luscious, very flavourful with soft tannins. Sipping nicely now with perhaps a few more years before sliding off into oblivion. Not the best effort we have seen from the people at Cos d'Estournel, but tres yummy at the moment and a nice way to sign off for the evening.

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Dark core with garnet rim; bell pepper, boxwood, red currant, smoke, cedar; nice density, gripping tannin, cinnamon, lower acid but good drinkability, oak, possibly struggled to ripen a bit (region and vintage maybe); called '06 St. Estephe; good.

Still young, and certainly best on day two.
Plum, tobacco, charcoal, bing cherry. Nicely done. Will be great in a few more years.
