Obvious notes of maturity here, some would probably say it's gone too far. A incredible nose, just spectacular. Truffle, damp wooden floor, rosehip, raisin, dried apricots, leather, a bit oxidised and a sherry-like feeling. So complex, I could sniff this all day. The palate comes across as a little more tired. Cherries, strawberries, rosehip, sherry and leather. After an hour in the glass it becomes sweeter and more towards the strawberries. This i an act of balance between being perfect and being over the hill, pretty much comes down to what you want from a wine for the moment. Needless to say you should expect some bottle variation. Left feeling fortunate to have tried some of the great Antonio Cerris work.

Cloudy brown in the glass and dead as doorknobs. Well ok, a brief moment spent pining for the fjords, one last caramel-scented sigh, and then toes up and totally expired.

A wonderful expression of place and time. Consumed with friends...so I'm likely to be scoring higher than normal. However, a wonderful bottle of wine
