rich as would be expected, this wine is fairly sweet with enough acidity to give balance.....some flavors of botrytis, only the slightest hint of petrol. The expressive nose suggests its in a good drinking window and should remain so for some time.

From magnum, allowed to be open and on table for 2 hours: honeyed aromas in glass, honeycomb, white pear, lemon, ripe honey crisp apple. A lot of sweetness coming through on the nose, smells awesome. Great texture in mouth, strong acids with stone fruits, ripe apple, white pear, honey. Very well balanced with its acid to sweetness, enough to keep things fresh. Long finish with fruit and sweetness lingering. This would age forever. Beautiful wine.

Clean and bracing, with peachy apricot, lime, candy apple, mineral and slate flavors. This is intense and beautifully structured. Really great acidity and seamless from the start to the long finish of lime and stone. Drink2010-2030 - JD93

2009 Wine Spectator NYWE Grand Tasting (Marriott Marquis, Times Square, NYC): juicy, but with better acid than some of the other ausleses, which helped to keep this fresh. still, i would like to see more complexity here.
