  • Gold.
Aromas of roasted hazelnut, pineapple, flint, orange blossom and marzipan.
Gorgeous lemony acids and grapefruit bitterness.
Palate of grapefruit, orange zest, lemon curd, acacia blossom, peach stone and crushed rock. Hint of licorice.
A crisp, vivacious, complex and great Chablis with bright yet mature fruit, beautiful mouth-filling acidity and a perfumed and very long finish. Drink within 5 years.
Tasted alongside Remelluri, Blanco, Rioja 2014 and the present wine was greater, better balanced and livelier yet with a firm acidic grip.

  • Tasted with multiple other wines from Les Clos. This was well made but on the austere side - it did not have the body, length or strength that I personally value in Les Clos.

  • Pale gold color. Split bottle over 4 hours plus. This was singing tonight. It started off very focused and steely, then just kicked into another gear altogether. Very fresh on the nose, lime infused limestone, citrus blossoms, and tingly minerality on the nose. The palate shows Meyer lemon, stone, crystalline, lime, sweet tart tang, zippy and refined with excellent length. The nose evolves further over two hours to show brine and green apple and the palate becomes even more expansive and shows ocean and saline notes, green apple and even more length. Impressive, and clearly still on the upswing.

  • Pale green color. Drank several glasses over an 8 hour period. This was intense on both the nose and palate. Filled with tart citrus, pulpy ultra tart lemon and lime extract, bold wet limestone minerality, sharp on the cut with a steely briskness and tons of saline minerality. Lots of floral notes on the nose and later an almost cedarbox and gunflint character that is enveloped in an ocean of brine. Wow, this was like a lemon-lime oyster in a glass.

  • Wasn't showing much. Closed down and in need of air.
