Incredible, full throttle, nose of candied, dark fruit, red fruit, and spice. The fruit dominates given the age. Much more open than other 2015s I’ve had recently, but quite a lot of tannin on the finish. I saved most of the bottle for day two and this turned pretty beefy on the palate but the nose was still awesome— even on day 3. try this again in five years.

During an evening of CLB NSG 1er Crus. The 15 was served with its 16 sibling and both made for a stunning pair. The 15 was a tiny bit plummer and obvious, very silky tannins with deep concentrated (but not hot) red fruits - immense fruit intensity really. The table gave the nod to the 16 and I was inclined to do that too but over time I felt they were equals really and both are sensational offerings. In a way I would have though this could have been a Malconsorts 15 if Louis-Michel had a plot in that vineyard. 95+

Liger-Belair Dinner (Hong Kong): Whereas the ‘12 shows like cough syrup, this has brighter and fresher red berry, but is still unduly dark and intense compared to the Vosne village wines, which are surprisingly showy and accessible. Tasted with Louis Michel, wines from the domaine.

Sweet, floral aromatics. Lot of fruit on offer with depth and persistence.
