Bottle variation. More like my 3/9/21 note than my 5/16/22 note. Tiniest bricking starting to show. Dark cherry, some strawberry on the nose. Leather, tea and more dark fruit on palate. Tannin and acidity falling in line. Long soft finish after 5 hours.

Very disappointing. Did not have the fruit, spices or rose petals that I expect from a good Chianti. Yes, the acidity and tannin were there, but bones without flesh are not enjoyable. I look forward to tasting another bottle. Hope this was just a deviant bottle.

Lots of dark cherries and berries on the palate. Some licorice, black coffee and tobacco notes in the background. Medium (+) to full bodied with a medium intense acidity. Grippy tannins, not fully integrated yet. Warm and voluptuous mouth feeling. Nice fruit structure. Great complexity and depth. Nice long finish. Around 6,000 bottles were produced. (IG)

Big Chianti indicative of the ripe 15 vintage. Tremendous deep layers on the palate that need several hours to start emerging. Upfront earthiness followed by dark cherry and strawberry on the nose. Palate begins similarly then revealing leather followed by cooking spices, tea, leather. Additional hints of clove on the finish and more leather. Looking forward to enjoying this over the next 10-12 years.

Excellent. Opens with a vast array of vivid, complex aromas, and to a lesser extent flavors (needs some more rest before it's fully 'online'). Let me go back to the part about complex - this has it in spades. On the palate, it's pretty much full-bodied (though it is 100% Sangiovese), and the layers are rich, and pretty much perfectly ripe. Yes, this leans modern, but it's just so well balanced, and integrated, talking points (modern vs traditional) just go down the loo. A highly enjoyable interpretation of land and grape. Just 6k bottles; drink 2021-2039. (93-96)
