Cork in poor shape and was extracted in pieces but without crumbling into the wine. Dark red to umber hue. Mature tasting but still enjoyable--a long-living Pinot. Dark fruit flavors and tea-like tannins. Probably better before 2010.

Tasted double blind. Ruby color with notes of cherry and allspice. Medium bodied, quite elegant really, with cherry and clove tones and nice acidity. Identified this one correctly...a rare event.

Appealing - not on its way out, either. 90+, perhaps, for score.
