Decanted 2+ hours prior to vintage port tasting. Still evolving; not fully tertiary yet. Rich, balanced dark red and black fruits. Black cherry compote and fig paste. Good acidity and smooth tannins. Paired well with an array of Bleu cheeses. The Warre’s 1985 was the standout of the evening.

The cork broke upon opening, so I had to filter pour it into my decanter (which I probably would have done anyway). It was absolutely amazing on Night 1, literally making me sit up and take notice. It settled into routinely excellent on Nights 2 through 5. I regret buying only one bottle.

I always enjoy Vintage port, I would have expected a small evolution on this bottle but nope, still so incredibly primary, I am not sure if several hours of Carafe would have made a difference? CT says 2012 - 2027...more like 2037-2057...I am convinced some vintage ports can easily age 100+ years.

Pop and pour.....C'est fou, on dirait qu’il vient d’être mis en bouteille! Plein et profond, finale saline. Excellent.
