Classic Sangiovese color. Nose is fairly muted, bit of floral and a hint of acetate. Palate is very restrained as well, mostly muted red fruit, some earth and dirt and bit of oak. Not particularly acidic or tannic. Very short finish. If it were more complex, one might it call it well integrated but in my view it’s just a very basic, boring Chianti without any major flaws but without any of the interesting characteristics or depth that make Sangiovese compelling.

100% Sangiovese, 12 months in large cask. Hint of fingernail polish on the nose. And bright cherry fruit which the fingernail polish really makes stand up. Fresh on the palate as well. Really did not expect this to be $27 a bottle.

Sangiovese druif met smaak van kersen, bramen, hout, kruiden met veel smaak in de mond. Is 12 maanden op hout gerijpt. Heeft een elegante frisse zure afdronk.
Combineert goed met pasta gerechten, kalfsvlees met kaas en tomaten saus.
Domein is gestart in 1960 en heeft 28ha aangeplant niet ver van Sienna in Toscane.
