Lovely bright berry and plum fruit, hint of apple, noticeable pretty spicey/twig/floral aromas (did this see whole cluster?). Extremely silky tannins that add some grip, good acidity, beautifully elegant. A hint of sweetness gives this away as CA but it's a beautifully done rendition of the genre.

pnp @ chez panisse. ruby red with slight bricking at the edges. very forward nose of raspberry, pine sap, and black tea. the palate is full and rich with fruit, spice, pine needles and a subtle leather/game note. the tannins have resolved and the texture of this wine is very silky. a lingering finish that straddles the line between red fruits and savory herbs.

Magic stuff. A wondrous blend of bright red fruit and aged notes of sap. The palate carries through with a superb mix of intensity and lightness. This is what I hope most of my good burgs will become with age.

Sublime. Felt this had aged perfectly and had hit its peak. Still had fruit left; tannins had softened and almost disappeared, leaving a silky mouthfeel. However, still some weight left, and pinot expressions continued as bottle opened up. Had with duck and smoked salmon and was sorry to see it go.

Still drinking well, if a bit past its prime.
