Refined and elegant bouquet of licorice, ripe black berries and plums with earthy and spicy nuances as the base notes. Not in your face and powerful style of Shiraz. However the nose needed 45 mins to open up. On the palate, it is again focused on balance and freshness of the elements, not the usual forward, ultra rich and ripe black fruits vanilla chocolate. It has a complex palate, largely echoing the flavors from the nose. The mid-palate freshness, with just a touch of blackcurrant chocolate cake and some bursts of energy at the finish make this wine interestingly different from the norm. The tannin structure is also well integrated into the flavors.

Excellent. drinking very well. Smooth , no heat, nice fruit. Worth the wait. Enjoyed with grilled steak and potatoes tonight. Enjoy with or without food. My impression of Gleatzer wines improves every time I open a bottle.

A faded shiraz, past its prime. A faint nose of brett and tobacco. Still, some faded red fruit, mineral, abundant acid. Tasty but lacks complexity.

Heavy sediment in bottle. Good structure, integrated tannins and nice dark fruits.

Most balanced Barossa I've had. Plenty of life and no rough edges. Just a hint of raspberry. Yummy.
