Tasted at the winery. Floral and light spice notes on the nose; easily identifiable as Gewürztraminer. Between light and medium bodied with rounded and open apple and peach notes, perhaps a touch of melon both upfront and through the middle. The fruit is delicate, but not fading. Backside shows tart notes and spices along with actually quite good acidity. I was expecting a FLX Gewürztraminer this old to be soft and fading, but the acidity provide for good support and provided for a nice transition to the finish. Overall, holding up better than any of us expected. It was an honor, a real pleasure and quite educational to be able to try a FLX wine of this age. Thanks very much to Wiemer for making this possible!
