Lovely red fruit spectrum with spice on the nose. The palate is juicy, but has a nice linear feel, with spice and dried herbs on the finish. Ready to go now.

From auction. Cork showed one area with seepage, or almost. Opens with a trunk full of funk, or the slightest suggestion of a lingering fart in a small car, and some turpentine/volatile nastiness, a bit of reduction. Instead of tasting right away (I know it sounds appealing), I just left it to stand and the nasty odors blew off in about 10.
N: Gorgeous sour cherry, fresh fig, damp soil, a touch of oak and a slight prick in the back of my throat (ethanol). Not distracting in the slightest, a nice start.
P: Beautiful, silky texture.Tannins so fine as to be imperceptible, if they were there to begin with (warm vintage I suppose). Glides down like a velvet __. Length and complexity were not invited to the party tonight however. It's more of a teenaged goth at the moment. Still, for all the bottles I've purchased on high expectations, at least this tastes like chambolle, has no downside and significant baby fat. It's similar to Tom Hanks; you can't really find fault but can't perceive greatness yet, which is still better than most.
13%abv Drink or hold, it's certainly not past, and once it loses some of its fruit, the secondary flavours will likely strike that perfect balance between silky/youthful and savoury complexity.

Consistent with previous note. Good wine, very plush texture.

Seattle Burgundy Group Tasting #2 Chambolle Musigny writ large (Cordon Selections): Asafoetida. Stemmy. Nice balance. Decent richness. Know that I say stemmy not as a pejorative.
