Darkish red. Nice red cherry, spice and graphite nose. Very nice graphite and Pinot flavours. A bit of orange peel and graphie on the finish. A bit too ripe for Burgundy but pretty close. Much better then previous bottles.
My wife nailed, grape, region and vintage WTF?????

Tart cherry and plum nose is followed by red fruits; tart cherry, raspberry, and plum on the pallet. Wanted a wine to work against a lentil soup with smoked ham and jalapeño and this was a very nice foil. The wine is big, and got even bigger against the soup. This wine has a lip smacking long finish, it's lovely.

Dark purple. Very ripe compared to the Sother North Valley 08. Dark cherry, brown sugar and some earth. Quite rich and a decent finish. Could be more interesting though.

I feel like I got punched in the mouth by a Fruits of the Forest berry pie. Intense concentration on the nose of cherry, blueberry, plum and blackberry. The palate is a little more refined, nice acidity holding the fruit together, soft texture. Not as complex as when I drank this in 2009 for thanksgiving, when a little caramel note stood out, but still plenty good; drank with lamb.

Loved it. Yes, bigger than a Burgandy, and lots of fruit, but well balanced, and delicious out of the bottle, with a roasted chicken.
