From a magnum donated from the Bonneau du Martray cellars. There’s a touch of honey development to the aroma. It has ripe peach and citrus fruit flavours. Theer’s some flesh and decent mineral cut. It is linear and very long.

A good showing today. The nose was very expressive; full of white flowers, vanilla oak, yellow orchard fruits and honey yoghurt. Quite regal and generous in dishing out the oak. In the mouth it’s lean and mineral driven which is uncharacteristic of Corton Charlie, rather, reminded me more of a Puligny, less the acidity.. The age again hardly shows. All in all this probably isn’t a mind blowing rendition of what they are capable of, but still is rather lovely.

I stay with my score and state "DRINK NOW!" This wine is losing the battle in the bottle. This wine is actually past its prime. I noticed that Wine Searcher has this priced over $600 per bottle, I would pass.

Did I miss something? My bottle, and perhaps I probably should not have shaken it before pouring (LOL), is lacking. This wine has passed it's prime, so much I am considering using it for cooking. I do store my wine correctly and know the life span of the chardonnay grape (which I think is part of the problem here). So if you have some of this wine DRNK NOW (or use for cooking).

Popped and poured. This needs 30 minutes of air to come together. Lemon rind, seashells and white flowers on the nose. The wine is lipid but adds complexity with air. Fairly full bodied, retaining good fruit concentration while also being nicely balanced.
