Cork broke in two but was still sound brick red colour and showing tourcherie notes of leather and dark spice and herb no tannin of note was super smooth across the tongue with fruit still running down the spine of palate for a wine of this age 26 years I would even say it might last another 3-4 years a multi regional wine that reflects the 1991 vintage in oz really impressive for Penfolds 150anniversary release back then...no more of this one sadly!

Full bodied, mature red with lots of black fruit, vanilla and leathery flavours, firm tannins and soft acidity with a long dry finish.

NobleRottersSydney - Penfolds prior to 95 + 1998 Bin releases (Darling Mills, Glebe): A charry cherry nose. Richness of fruit still dominates. A spicy palate, but full and rich, with super length. Has aged beautifully. This is a great wine, which I would appreciate more had I not drunk 3 Granges preceding it…

NobleRottersSydney - Penfolds prior to 1992 (blind) (Darling Mills, Glebe): Inky raspberry nose. Hugely tannic on teeth & gums but somehow biased all towards the front palate. Finish fades surprisingly quickly. Not really up to scratch.
