My first Mugneret Gibourg, and it lived up to the hype. 2003 was a weird vintage, but this wine is very classy, none of the roasted fruit or overdeveloped tannin that mars many 03's. Wish I had more...

Damn, didn't realize this was the last one. Very good. Fresh especially within the context of the vintage. Bright berries, crunchy fruit and pretty substantial. Good juice. Better than many other wines from this vintage with better pedigree and bigger price tags.

a fine Bourgogne that is light to middle weight with red cherry and strawberry. Tannins are smooth and rounded making for enjoyable drinking now. This wine is well constructed but somewhat short in its finish.

2003 is controversial, but this Bourgogne is delicious. Deep black cherry fruit dominates the wine, but it's neither candied nor boring, as it eventually open up and is framed by proper balancing acidity, making it a lovely food partner (grilled sockeye salmon in this case) & with its effusive fruitiness an enjoyable drop on its own.

3/12/2013 - Rieslingfan Does not like this wine:
Age has not been good to this. It has become hot, pruney and a poster child for everything I do not like about 2003.
