Birthday treat from the bottom of the cellar racking. Humidity is a bit high and the label was sliding off a touch. Regardless the wine inside the bottle is the feature. Color is quite nice, a dark magenta with no bricking. The nose is starting to exhibit secondary notes of leather along with blackberry, sage and perhaps bay leaf. The fruit up front is holding up nicely with black berry and blueberry notes. Concentrated but not heavy, rather it’s focused, medium bodied and balanced. Tannins are fully resolved and this just glides across the palate seamlessly. A touch of tart red berry on the finish completes this wine wonderfully. Extremely food friendly and lithe. It’s in a great place right now and love where it’s headed. Drink over the next 5+ years.

Surprisingly, this wine was not terribly dark but was more garnet in color. Wonderfully expressive nose of dark fruit, plum and cherry, mixed with lavender and roasted meat notes. The palate is packed with the same dark fruits as well as floral notes and a meaty finish. There is ample acidity to make this wine fresh on the palate, and the tannins are well managed. Overall, this wine had a spectacularly forward nose and a balanced flavor profile that showed true class.

Went very nicely with a porterhouse steak. Notes of black cherry, black pepper, olive, mineral, and herbs in a slightly dense fruit forward style. Layered with fine sweet tannins, medium acidity and quite a long velvety finish. This one was a treat.
