Decanted 2 hours. A great effort with nicely balanced concentrated dark fruit, notes of plum black raspberry, cassis with hint of graphite and spice. Nice velvety mouthfeel with long finish. Paired with game meat meatloaf.

Oh my, such a great Saxum. Grenache focus seems to create a smoother, less alcohol forward wine than the more Syrah focused Saxum. 94 but contemplated a 95 rating. 3 hour decant.

Opened around 6 with every intention of having 2 glasses and saving the rest for tomorrow. It’s very fruity and so damn quaffable that when I finished my second glass around 8 I just couldn’t bring myself to put the cork in and move on. Everything is so perfectly integrated right now and ready to drink.

Phenomenal wine brought to the table tonight by JAronson. The final wine poured for our small group. It is immediately recognized by me as something other than Napa cab. Syrah? Grenache? Ha! Equal parts at 43% along with 14% of Mataro. This is a very fruity, very well made, very balanced, very drinkable wine. Probably 100pts for the non Napa Cab crowd. Very well balanced, very enjoyable. Borders on a 95 for me at the end of the night but my own biases and prejudices remind me that a wine this fruity can't be taken too seriously or given too high a score? Right? Especially, when compared against a Napa cab? Kudos to JAronson for bringing this one to the table tonight! Fun!

Corked, with a slight spritz. Unfortunate .
