This was tasted side by side with a 2022 Stags' Leap Chardonnay - this comes off as darker golden in color (relatively), but almost aggressively buttery in richness. It's not necessarily a bad thing especially since there is acidity to balance it, but it definitely feels dense/rich. If you are expecting this (which you probably are if you have had ABC chardonnays before), then you won't be disappointed as this is quite similar to some of their other Chardonnay bottlings.

Palate: Moderate acidity. Light toasty and nutty oak. Dollop of buttery malo. Tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, green apple. Some orchard fruit, pears, and plums.
Finish: Long. Lingering nuttiness and green apples.
Overall: Very nice and complex, but I think it could use another year or two of bottle age.

Superb california chardonnay. This balances a deep richness with fruity freshness. There is a great note of minimality which ties together the golden fruit and oak.
A note on the oak by the way -- THIS is what well integrated oak tastes like. Instead of singing as a separate note, the oak is part of the harmony on the palette. Tough to find any faults here.

Eye: Medium gold to a pale straw.
Nose: Tropical fruit, caramel, rich cream. Red apple. Nice chalky minerality.
