Final bottle and a good one. Rough and rustic, this electric red wine is broad shouldered and hearty. A good choice for a chilly fall evening (too bad it feels like 90 right now!). The wood has been nicely incorporated leaving dark cherry and menthol notes. Fills the mouth. Lacks nuance but that’s ok every now and then. I like it. (90)

I found this disappointing, as I am a big ‘99 fan. Tart red fruit with a little pruney note, thin, somewhat clipped. If this is representative bottle C+/B-

Pale ruby red in color. Nose is shy upon opening. It starts to open about 15 minutes later and fully blossoms half an hour in the glass. Raspberry, cranberry, cedar, and resin. Dry on the palate, light body, medium plus acid, the same notes reverberate on the palate but the fruit shows a bit cooked, likely by time. Tannins are actually alive, medium and chalky. Alcohol is medium and well integrated. No heat. The finish is drying and short. This has reached peak and starting the down slope. No reason to wait.

Well matured. Dark cherry, tobacco, forest floor. Acid and tannins are very present and don’t resemble a 23 year old Pinot.
It hits all the notes I’d expect for aged Burgundy but doesn’t really excite. Honestly not worth $225 off of a wine list.

Unfortunately this wine has seen better days. Most of the fruit is gone. Only tertiaries left. No fault of it's own. We can blame time.
