Broken cork. Delicious wine, flavors of leather, tobacco, chocolate, coffee, jammy dark fruit. It needs to be drunk within ~an hour of opening the bottle - it’s aged enough. Don’t let it sit around, I’d drink it by 2025.

5/5, vg cork. Decanted and served. Deep/opaque garnet core, very narrow pale rim. This has a rich, dark-fruited nose, blackcurrant with mocha and spice notes, though the oak has now integrated quite nicely. It is medium/full booided on the palate, rich with dark fruit, mocha and spice, soft and tactile - just a touch of Graves earth and mineral, fresh aciids, medium/good length harmonious finish. Has setlled down well though still not showing a huge amount of Graves character. Drinking well but should hold for at least another 5-7 years.

(Decanted for one hour) Deep red colour with a mature nose showing barnyard, leather and red fruit sweetness and opens up with some violet and licorice in a delicious way. Silk smooth tannins on the palate with a refreshing acidity with drying fruit and showing some leather and licorice on the lengthy finish. (Best 2015-2030)

Pre-sale tasting Winefields Auctioneers: A modest bouquet, missing maybe some aeration, a smooth taste, friendly bitters and ripe tannins; a kind of surprise for me.

After an hour decant, I get a nose of leather, BBQ, and some burnt match and the nose changes over time and is quite pronounced. This is a serious old school Bordeaux and the palate is filled with dark red cherry, sweet tart cranberry, acerola cherry, and a dusty bit of cocoa. The tannins are almost fully resolved with a grippiness on the finish which is short but enjoyable. This wine is in or past the window of enjoyment but still showing good right now. There is no reason to hold it any longer so drink up
