A Ten Year Tasting: Wines of 2008 (Primarily Oregon Pinot Noir & Ringers) - Graciously hosted by Grinner:
Flight Five of Five - Wine 2:
Interesting to see how this evolved, particularly after tasting several recent vintages a few months back. Purple berry fruit, salinity, and earth. Rock solid.

Burgundian in style. Faded fruit. Dry. Moderate earthiness reflecting the soil where the vines grow.Did not change over the course of4-6 hours. By itself it is rather plain. Needs a good cheese to coax out the flavors.

The Lyon 10 Year Tasting: 2008 Oregon Pinot Noir (Lyon Den): Deep and balanced, this has a nice mix of red and black fruit. Spice and minerals show up later. Dropped to 90 on day two, but still ok on day 3.

Burgundy style, mature fruits, earthy, steely, slight pepper taste, minerals. Soft tannins, well integrated. Deep and concentrated flavors. Brilliant bouquet.
