This was excellent. First bottle from the producer and surely won’t be the last. Elegant but with great concentration. Alcohol is in a good place here and not pushing ripeness like some others in the WV. The wine needed a good 90 minutes of air to show its best, and once it’s there, the nose is wonderfully complex and long. Acid is present and balanced with just a little bit of structure to age 10+ years, but not harsh on the tannins in any way. Great with good, or by itself

In all my years of tasting Brittan, “quaffable” and “soft” have never been adjectives I’ve used to describe them. But here they are, and from a Gestalt bottling! (which are usually more serious for me than the Basalt). Opens up with softer red fruits, and a plush mouthfeel with great-but-not-overbearing acidity and tannin. Easiest drinking young Brittan ever!

Perfect Thanksgiving accompaniment. Sun-kissed cranberry, bright acidity. Clears the palate beautiful.

Light colored and light bodied, floral aroma with some minerality. Crisp and acidic with delicate red fruit. Well balanced and well crafted.
