So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: From half-bottle. Beautiful color, and was able to do a true comparison, as I had the 2016 Quintessa the night before. Well integrated fruits - cooked fruits, not quite stewed, and certainly not fresh, but really really well integrated flavor and structure. Tannins were present, and we did not have any food, but the tannins just added to the complexity of the wine. I couldn't believe how good this was from a 375. My wife, who doesn't typically like older wine, loved this one. I have one more half-bottle - a 1999, and I'm excited to try it.

2000 was a down year for a lot of Napa wines, but this one has aged beautifully. Approx 90 minute decant knocked off a bit of the must in the nose and the fruit absolutely sang. Fruit and tannin balanced at about 30 seconds and lingered for a while after. If anyone has any of these handing around do not hesitate to pop one open. My only regret is this was the last of four I had on hand.

Light notes of horse blanket and mushroom on the nose, complemented with roses, cherry, and vanilla. Spicy and lightly fruity with acid and a tannic backbone, peppery finish. Could probably age longer. Delicious.

Ripe cabernet fruit with a touch of green pepper, fairly restrained, drinking very well now and it paired nicely with 2000 and 2001 Lynch Bages.
