Sampled at Salvatore, Seattle. Popped and poured. Dark garnet hue. Nose of mulberry, black cherry, a bit of tar and violets. Nicely balanced palate showing fresh, tart bing cherry and moca notes layered with tarry, grippy tannins. Moderate acidity and a long, flavorful finish with echoes of fruit and earth. A tasty drink and wonderful paired with beef medallions in gorgonzola mushroom sauce.

Wow! Is this drinking well. Effusive nose with floral and tar notes. On the palate a bit tannic at first integrates with swirling for a few minutes. Red currants, mineral, tar and a touch of menthol on the palate. I wish I had a lot more of this. Sadly, my only bottle. Paired well with pasta with sun dried tomatoes and basil cream sauce.

Plum and licorice and menthol perfume with some toasty almond. Jammu dark fruit, vanilla has faded, still earthy licorice. Still plenty of verve and fruit left. Charming stuff.

Suave, dark chocolate, strong acidity. A nice Barbera. Not quite as special as I was hoping for.
