This is a very good wine. The pinot works well with the bordeaux grapes. Makes you think you are sitting on the forest floor in a lush, green forest in Slovenia. The wine is well integrated, the cab not too assertive. Not at all vegetal. The grapes work in a very nice symphony and there is enough pinot to make this a wine for contemplation. Tasted even better the second day. There is a very good array of bluish black fruit here. Fairly lush. Vey fine winemaking.

An excellent bottle (one wine professional/buyer raved about it). I've had six earlier vintages of this wine (6 different decades, too) - no reason this one won't age gracefully for another 30 years.

A blend of Pinot Nero, Cabernet and Merlot from vineyards along the Fruili/Slovenia border. A captivating blend. The nose is a hypothetical cross between a red Sancerre and Chinon. Suprisingly, the taste is much more Bordeaux than the nose would indicate. Soft and supple with just a hint of oak belies its barrique aging. Mature sweet red cherry fruit of medium intensity. Balanced and seemless with a long finish and no hard edges. This is a nice mature table wine that will last for a handful more years but may not improve significantly. A very good iconoclastic wine that I would recommend but not extraordinary.
