  • Another 2007 that delivers albeit this was very light, soft and lacked a proper weight on the palate. Not that we fault it for that and it was very enjoyable with lovely rose feel on the nose, soft smoky and red fruited with a good secondary edge. We loved it a lot more 6 years ago when it had more weight of fruit but even now was a very enjoyable and charming wine and a good reminder of what soft burgundy can deliver in the sea of heavier beasts. Good 91-92

  • At Le Talbooth. £96 off the list. No formal note. This was red fruited, spicy, with a distinct white pepper, herbal note. All the same it wasn't structurally under-ripe, the tannins were fine and round and it had decent weight and length to off-set the attractive, vibrant acidity on the good length finish. Although the herbal, white pepperiness did provide a slightly distracting, even off-putting edge to the wine, this was still a very enjoyable village Vosne, drinking well now but with no need to hurry.

  • Beautiful 2007 once again. Requires a touch of time to open up like 10-15 minutes in the bottle.
The nose is of a 95 and is such a beauty. Lovely red fruit, smoky, roast meat (would have thought it was a Gevrey have we tried it blind) , light roses. Complex nose, long and with lots of depth. The palate does not follow on the same tune but its still very good, medium, good fruit, good acidity and purity. Has a few rough edges here and there but overall a very good wine and a testament to the beauty that 2007 is. 92 from us

  • A pale color. Immediately very expressive. Very ripe, but not at all over-ripe reddish fruit and a very stylish mouthfeel. Very good intensity and nice acidity. There’s also a great feel of terroir here that is really rare in village wines from Vosne. This feels ready to drink, although it will probably hold well for many years. A lovely village wine that has a lot to offer.

  • My First Visit To Burgundy: Clavelier, Dujac, Bachelet (Côte de Nuits, Burgundy, France): Bruno stated this vineyard is shale and limestone, and he had some fossils on display from his plot here. Wonderful aromas and flavors of spices and red berries, has good power and acidity giving attractive balance to the wine. The tannins seem to be a bit astringent on the finish. A solid village that should reward cellaring.

(Clavelier Bruno Vosne-Romanée La Combe Brûlée) High-toned red fruits. Nice concentration and plenty of ripe, grainy tannin. Good acidity and plenty of excitement in the mid-palate. This is long too - a super villages.
