Vibrant deep garnet. Hints of bricking, still showing well but approaching drinking up time. Velvety young blackberries, hints of mint (?) minerality & polished tannins. All the expected PN characteristics but a lovely elegance, depth & complexity (this is the very opposite to raspberry juice PN). Lovely satisfying finish too. A very tasty Burgundy.

The cork was tough to remove and was very dry - it broke leaving 1/2 " of cork in the bottle. Carefully drawing the remaining piece revealed that this wine that was most definitely bouchonné. Very sad - but will hopefully make outstanding French Onion Soup!

- Garnet color and aromas of cloves and blackberry. It's balanced and has flavours of blackberry, black pepper, cloves and smokey with a medium/full body. Satin-Like texture with a long finish - This is fabulous wine. It is supposed to be beyond its best but, in my opinion, there is quite some life left. Although there is a merest hint of oxidisation on the nose, some tannins remain present on the palate and there is still loads of fruit. The spicy, slightly woody (cedar) finish is long and utterly charming. I will not be in a rush to drink my remaining two bottles.

This wine is supposed to be at the end of its life, but it isn't. It still has a wonderfully fruity nose. There some tannins left and, on the palate, the wine has a gorgeous round taste with loads of spice and blackcurrant. Good until 2013 at least - maybe longer.
