The wine is a fairly deep ruby color with just a touch of lightening at the edge. The enticing nose has blackberries, dried herbs, black pepper, cherries, leather, and minerals. This has medium body, a nice tannic backbone and very good acidity. On the palate there are spicy, peppery berries with dried herbs and minerals adding nice depth and complexity. The finish had decent length with the berries and dried herbs carrying most of the load. A very mild mannered, food friendly CdP that is in a prime drinking window.

Had with barbecued chicken and it was a very good companion. The cork shredded upon extraction, but the wine tasted perfectly fine. This is a very pleasant and tasty wine with lots of freshness. It's a bit simple for a CDP, but very pure. There is a lot going on in the glass with notes of plum, dark cherry, earthy notes, a bit of leather, and a hint of vanilla. We have no records of when or where we purchased this, but it's much better than the 92 pts. from WS and it promises to remain that way for a while.

My last bottle. Opened with a few friends to celebrate the 1st anniversary of my new kidney. Still going strong. No formal notes. Not bad for a $15 purchase. 91 points.
