My first try of 100% Barbera. This would mate well with tomato-based sauces. Must describe as a refreshing, bright red wine, with flavors of plum and cherries, and maybe tobacco. Sweeter than most other red varietals. The acidity a little high, but does not overpower. Tannins almost non-existent. No technical tasting notes here, but a great red and a surprise for a varietal rarely bottled without being blended with others.

With time it developed more and more Monforte terroir. Not a massive Barbera but quite delicate. I would drink it up.
