Deliciously awesome Brunello di Montalcino. This bottle was decanted for around 1 hour, and drank over another hour.
The wine positively evolved throughout the one hour of drinking. Great acid keeps this a strong player, which really finished with power, and poised balance. Great experience.

PNP. Mature nose, decaying leaves, dried roses and spice. Beautiful palate, mid weight cherry fruit, with balsamic elements and a drying finish. This got better with air.
I couldn't drink this...too high alcohol coming through aromatically as well as on the palate. Very dry tanning and bitterly present. The sheer tannin is overwhelming the fading fruits which are nuanced but wiped out by the metalic and acidic finish.

PNP. Advanced nose. Acidic and very drying palate. Really seems over the hill and maderized, but this bottle had a ton of sediment and grape material that coated the inside of the bottle and came out in leaf like thin chunks. Never had a bottle pour out like this one. It was not obviously heat damaged, the cork was solid with just an 1/8 of staining on the bottom, capsule was clean, no signs of leakage at all.

Slightly disappointing. Decent nose. Pale in color. Weak essence of berry, fading tannins. Alas, past it’s prime.
