  • Dark and intense, tannins hit you quick on the palate and linger for a good 30-45 seconds. Great nose that has you trying to guess the intriguing aromas coming off this one. I would say pepper, chocolate, berries, and some tar like chemical that is not bad in any way, but I can't place it. However, after 2 hours this one started to fade, so drink up soon

  • Dark, Dense. Garnett, almost inky. Nose of Black Cherry, pepper, and touch of vanilla. Body was full, with taste of Black Cherry and Raspberry. Tannins were full, but less than when tasted last year. Nice finish of a hodgepodge of berries. A bit hot, but settled down after a time. This is a Rosenblum for sure.

  • CB: Dark garnett with slight color variation towards the rim. Nose of pepper, vegetable, lots of toast elements, a hint of vanilla and possibly some tar? The nose is definitely filled with dark fruits and seemed very closed down. The palate was similarto the nose with a very furry mouthfeel. The tannins were overwhelming in this wine and did not dissipate with time. Long finish. I was not overly impressed with this wine. It did not seem very balanced to me and it is personally not my favorite style of wine. I probably would not drink this again given the price.

TB: Splash decanted for a half hour. Inky purple in color, clear around the edges. Notes of mocha, bramble fruit, cedar, and a hit of eucalyptus on the nose. Showing sweet blackberries, vanilla, and mocha on the palate with dusty tannins. There's nice, bright acidity to counter the big tannins and fruit with a finish of spice that starts out quickly, fades quickly, but lingers. Additionally, there's some heat when it goes down, something about the 15.6% alcohol I'm guessing. Over time, the oak fades to fruit with some plum, blackberry, and mocha becoming more distinct on the nose. Unfortunately, the tannins never dissipated however. I wanted to like this wine based on what I consider a wonderful nose, but the tannins seemed to almots get more noticable as time wore on. Perhaps it needs more time.
