Deep gold like only a grand cru Alsatian can reach, okay maybe old sauternes too. But a giveaway in any event. Apricots and beeswax. Ever bit into beeswax? Every spring I buy a hunk. Flowers and sunshine. Same here. But I don't usually bite into an apricot right after. I'm too busy dislodging the wax from between my teeth. Same here. But the fresh fruit attacks the palate in a way that meets the fat head on and makes for striking balance, and dare I say, complexity. My wife would have spit this out, too much work, I say, please sir, may I have some more? So sad, only one bottle.
Seriously people, what's up with the abbreviations? What do Royal Scots gave to do with his wine?

Très belle aromatique sur les épices et les fruits jaunes confits. Ça se boit tout seul! Le seul hic: le taux élevé de sucrosité en bouche limites les accords. Superbe avec le foie gras en torchon sur du pain d'épices ou avec les fromages.

dark golden yellow, deep and rich bouquet with honey, stewed lemon, apricot, minerality, and definite RS. The wine is layered on the palette with apricot, spice, viscous honey and RS, but nice RS. Finish is long, acidity low....super Alsace PG...show stopper!

Sweetness indicator 4/9, 14 % ABV. Golden, viscous liquid in the glass. The intensity and depth of the nose are on a dessert wine level. The aromatic explosion here is full of ripe notes of honey, apricot, beeswax, flowers and spices. Surprisingly there is also a minerally dimension and some nice tartness to the fruit, and thus overall the nose manages to be not just ripe, layered and nuanced, but quite fresh and lively also. Fantastic! On the palate full bodied, rich and fleshy, but airy and quite strong on drinkability and vigour. Not high in acidity as some top producers' PG's can be, but still nowhere near flabby or fat. While I ofter struggle with high alcohol PG's I actually think that here the alcohol works in favor of the wine, providing some sort of structure. After the initial sensation of sweetness the palate actually gets quite dry and the honeyed, citrusy fruit does not seem overripe at all. The finish is also dry and very clean for such a low acid wine. A pretty nice PG, especially aromatically.
