Father’s Day barbecue at Rainer’s place. The wine was intense yellow in colour and offered ripe apricot, honey and white raisins on the nose and palate, with some sweetness, lowish acidity and good length of the honeyed and slightly steely finish. The medium- to full-bodied wine lacked freshness and seemed plump, and had clearly benefited from higher acidity, but was reasonably pleasant to drink. Its great, very smooth mouthfeel stood out.

This was excellent. Honeyed hue and lovely sweet taste, but not at all cloying like some sweeties. Some acidity, but mainly ripe, floral, honeydew flavours.
