Popped and poured. Nice, rather rich nose. Taste: refined. It may have lost a bit of fruit compared with 2009, but still agreeable cherries and red berries. Some hints of smoke and mushrooms. A tiny thin and a bit short, but altogether nicely classically refined and rich. This has developed nicely. Probably at its top now. At the second day a bit less good. 86-87.

After decanting for 5-6 hours. Smell: rather fruity with a nice combination of plum, chocolate and dung. Taste: follows the nose, rather rich and above all with a nice cachet. Not a great wine but enjoyable and - as mentioned earlier - with a good QPR. It looks like the taste comes up from the background over time, compared to earlier tastings of this wine. Still have one bottle left to find out whether this is the fact.

Had this two times with dinner in the second half of 2008, but it didn't impress. In april 2009 with ducks breast, mushrooms and port-wine-sauce it had a nice nose. The taste was rather round and it had nice depth. Pleasant wine with this menu with a nice QPR at 8,5 Euro at the chateau.
