  • Polished medium ruby. Faint aromas, needing much coaxing to find hints of bacon, earthy notes, burnt matchstick, leather; a somewhat Cote de Beaune-like nose with some smoky oak atop. Lovely, tender texture, smooth tannin, supple but balancing acids, has good fat. Flavors of simple raspberry and earth, and makes a nice pairing to our grilled Provencal herb chicken and tomatoes, quick warming on a very cool and breezy coastal SoCal day. Ready to drink. Bottle #1 of one.
