Well, I waited too long. This wine had just started to turn. I opened it 5 hours before serving and tasted it then. It was very acidic and had just a tinge of that funky taste when a wine is too old. After 5 hours most of the acidity and funkyness had left but not all. Too bad, because the underlying wine was really quite nice. Luckily this is my last bottle.

What a fantastic wine. I had to get past the sediment, but what was left was pure heaven. This zinfandel is still young. We let it breathe for 3 hours. What impressed me most was the finish. Here I am an hour later and and I can still taste the wine. Wonderful!! Glad I have two more.

Two and a half years later - this assessment is dead on still.

More approachable than the previous bottle I had several years ago, which seemed too sweet and overextracted. This had better balance, but already showing some age with stewed fruit/raisin characteristics. Some anise on the palate as well. High alcohol level is overpowering, though. Smooth finish.

Oops, I opened this one too soon after my last bottle. No worries though. The color is quite deep, dark; nose is absolutely filled with red fruits, pomegranate, a bit high on EtOH; palate still quite young, very fruity, structured but approachable, very full bodied; finish is medium-long with thick black fruits. Classic Turley, a bit alcoholic on the nose but otherwise in balance and very enjoyable. Maybe even a year or two too young. 91-92
