Piedmont wines: Thought this was a traditional maker but I thought the tannins were a little over-extracted and seemed to have unintegrated oak present on the nose. Had everything you expected from a base Barolo at 15 years of age, and in the zone now.

God, i fin balance, og moden. Ikke den store koncentration, heller ikke selv om frugten trådte en anelse mere frem efter en times tid. Jeg er i tvivl om, om den med fordel kunne være drukket yngre, selv om den ikke virkede træt i det.

Very pretty nose, floral, dark fruit, complex. Mouth quite lean now, but plenty of fruit in there, pretty and complex. Not especially dense or layered, but bang on for a non-cru traditional barolo. Needs a year or two...

Garnet to light ruby. Pretty classic nose with cherries, raspberries, liquorice, violets, slight tar, baking spices and cedar. Medium bodied palate with bright acidity and a tight grip of ripe tannin. Balanced and refreshing berry fruit and some cedar that still needs more time to blend in. Mid-length. For this price I don't mind drinking a nice Barolo way too young, but for this price I well might want to cellar a few bottles as well. Aired for 8 hours and drank with grilled entrecôte, fried onions and some mushrooms. Cut the fat pretty nicely.
