Interesting nose, picked upped cherry, bacon, cedar, incense and earth. Deep, brick red color, no longer the dark purple that this wine was in its youth. Complexity has developed over time in the mouth, picked up cherry, blackberry, spice, leather and a touch of pepper, no longer the fruit bomb this was a couple of years ago. Only thing that has suffered with age, is that the finish is shorter that it was in 2004. Good value.

Very nice Zin for the price, had heard good things about Rancho Zabaco but this was the first bottle I had drank. Was smooth with a little spice and just the right amount of fruit, I'd say it is a very good value buy and I would purchase it again.

Nice wine with grilled burgers on the deck. Not as "juicy" as other Zins I've had, or other vintages of this wine. Perhaps it needs to be drunk young. Second day was hot and "cough syrupy". Will have to try some newer bottlings as we have liked this particular label in the past.

Didn't expect much, but this wine came through. Good composition, hint of tobacco leaf.
